Red Sun Weekly: 2016.10.21

Red Sun is Registered…

It’s all systems go at Red Sun, as the past few weeks have been nose to the grindstone with registrations across several agencies. We are pleased to report that we are near completion as a registered Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and are soon-to-be fully up and running in the System of Awards Management (SAM) database.

These steps allow Red Sun to compete for US Government contracts, as well as augment the leverage partnerships with larger corporations and firms competing for Government funding.

CEO Notes

In the rush of running a start-up, it is often easy to overlook the simple processes and steps needed to get those projects off the ground. This month has been about ensuring due diligence and getting the basics completed.

Throughout October, my priority has been ensuring that Red Sun is able to play to its strengths given the opportunities available. In our case, as a veteran-owned business, this meant getting the registrations and certifications to add value to our corporation in the eyes of US law.

The advantages for VOSB’s and SDVOSB’s are clear – every US Government agency has ‘side aside’ goals for such entities. What this means for us, is that for many government contracts and grants, we move to the front of the line. This also applies to sub-contracting opportunities. So if you are a larger firm, you will benefit by bringing on SDVOSB designated businesses, as this will improve the visibility and strength of a government bid.

As always, stay tuned over the coming weeks as we develop our projects in solar power research, mobile pin-pay, and asymmetric networked infrastructure.
